The intolerance for opinions that differ from the mainstream at Mount Allison is extraordinary. People don't just want to rebut Azar's opinions -- in fact, there's precious little effort to rebut her at all. Instead they want to publicly humiliate her and destroy her career.

At this point, reading up on Mao's Red Guard might serve.

The comments by Wright are the sorts of comments that are made by a great teacher. Their recommendation that this incident open up a university-wide engagement in educating everyone about what structural racism is, and that conversation will likely have to be ongoing and developing throughout at least 6 months to a year. After that, will come, hopefully, more workshops and small discussion groups to learn how to take steps to change structural racism. Guests can be brought to the campus who have experience in leading such workshops. Because this is not easy to teach. And not easy to change! My hope is that this professor and others who share her views will learn, too, and maybe instead of being turfed out, she will be “turfed in” and begin her studies right here at Mount A.

I wonder whether they've considered the fact that young kids also have skateboards, not just adults who want to use them for transportation to get to work. What sort of guidelines will be put in place as to age limits etc? I can just envision an 8-yr-old skateboarding down a hilly street right into the path of an oncoming vehicle ...

My good friend Steve Ridlington tuned me in into the CMHA site. I find it very informative for the voice of the marshes. The years in Sackville were long ago and formative. Mayor Percy Trenholm was one of my first advocates in town planning for we wheelchair users. Especially the day when the street was dug up in front of Windsor Hall stopping me dead. He was there with his crew with sheets of plywood. No cell phones at the time so it was true “into action” responses.
The town is well served by your service. Those of us who advocated to the CRTC for campus radio knew not what would hatch. I never got to see the Attic but certainly heard about it and from it.
Good Luck to you.

Hi Linda,

Good question! If you listen to the audio, you will hear that Anne Comfort confirms that the person had recently travelled into New Brunswick from out-of-province. After their arrival, they began their self-isolation period.

I will add a line to the article that includes that information to avoid further confusion.

Here is some information:
https://www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/corporate/promo/travel-registration.html

"As part of New Brunswick’s COVID-19 recovery effort, travellers entering New Brunswick by land, air or sea must register so information can be collected to support Public Health.

You must register online before you travel. Your registration confirmation will be sent by email within 5 days. Plan ahead and submit your application prior to your travel date."
