300 Pfizer booster appointments available Saturday in Sackville

A booster clinic originally slated for people under 30 has been opened up to anyone over 18 who has completed their first two shots of a COVID-19 vaccine at least five months ago.

The clinic will be administering Pfizer, which in New Brunswick is normally limited to those under 30. But the planned clinic had less uptake by those 29 and under than predicted, and so to ensure the Pfizer doses are used, spots are now open for anyone eligible for a booster in New Brunswick.

The clinic is happening Saturday at the Mount Allison University Athletic Centre, in collaboration with the university, public health, and the Corner Drug Store.

Possible bad weather could cause issues for the clinic, but pharmacist Charles Beaver is going ahead with the plan and says the worst case scenario would involve rescheduling.

Beaver asks people not to call to try to register for the clinic because of unmanageable call volumes at the Corner Drug Store. Instead, people can register for the clinic at thecornerdrugstore.ca.
