‘Extraordinary people’: residents of Tantramar, Memramcook and Strait Shores recognized with Coronation Medal

Twelve residents of Tantramar, Memramcook and Strait Shores have been recognized with a King Charles III Coronation Medal.

Longtime Beauséjour MP and Minister of Finance Dominic LeBlanc presented the medals in a ceremony on Friday afternoon at the Centre des arts et de la culture in Dieppe.

In total, 35 medals were presented to residents of the Beauséjour riding, to people nominated by a variety of organizations including legions, food banks, and municipalities.

In a post on social media, Dominic LeBlanc said his riding was “full of extraordinary people” and that he “had the pleasure of recognizing the remarkable contributions of 35 citizens of our region” with the awarding of the King Charles III Coronation Medal.

According to the government of Canada website, candidates for the medal “have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region or community of Canada, or have made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.”
