Greens statement time cut in half; shining a light on ‘hidden’ Black artist Edward Mitchell Bannister; and celebrating Mountie Day in Sackville

The Holt Liberals have made another move that will impact the work of Tantramar MLA Megan Mitton in the legislature.  This week, the Liberals changed the rules around member statements, which will limit Mitton and Green leader David Coon to half as many opportunities for statements as they’ve had previously.

The Owens Art Gallery is hosting the final days of ‘Hidden Blackness’, a landmark exhibition featuring the works of Edward Mitchell Bannister, a globally celebrated yet nationally forgotten painter born in New Brunswick. CHMA’s Clinton Davis reports.

The 11th annual Mountie Day celebration happened Thursday outside Tantramar’s municipal hall on Main Street in Sackville. CHMA spoke with Deputy Mayor Matt Estabrooks, Mount Allison Athletics director Neil MacEachern, and some of the roughly 40 Mountie athletes gathered for the event.
