On today’s show, a new mayor and council for the town of Amherst will be sworn in tonight.  We meet former and now newly re-elected mayor Rob Small and hear about what he sees in the future of the Nova Scotia border town.

Small talks about his interest in a local bus service for Amherst, the role of the town in helping to recruit healthcare workers, and his concerns over the general readiness of the town when it comes to the effects of climate change.

Plus in briefs:

  • Tantramar is officially looking for a new director of community and corporate services;
  • The province has just released numbers showing an 8.1% average rise in property assessment for Tantramar;
  • And council is expected to give final approval on an industrial re-zoning on York Street at a special meeting today.
