The New Brunswick government says about 200 community-based projects across the province are sharing 9.7-million dollars from the Environmental Trust Fund.
The 196 initiatives focus on environmental protection, raising environmental awareness, waste management, addressing climate change and building sustainable communities.
Environment and Climate Change Minister Gilles LePage says these projects will help protect, preserve and enhance the province’s natural environment for the long term.
He says the government is strongly committed to investing in innovative approaches that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and make New Brunswick more resilient. (The Canadian Press)

(NB-Fatal-Crash)
Police say a 38-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash northwest of Fredericton on Sunday.
Officers were called in to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Route 107 in Juniper.
Police believe the crash occurred when the vehicle failed to navigate a turn during the early morning hours.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle didn’t survive their injuries and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. (The Canadian Press)

(NB-Power-Outages)
Power has been restored to most parts of New Brunswick following a weekend wind storm.
At the height of the storm, more than 58-thousand homes and businesses were without power.
N-B Power says the number of outages has been reduced to about 200, most of them along the Acadian Peninsula and in the Fredericton area.
Northwest gusts in Bathurst reached over 100 kilometres per hour on Sunday, and over 80 in Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton.

The government of Newfoundland and Labrador is now accepting applications for this year’s arts infrastructure and programming fund.
Arts organizations can apply for infrastructure updates that support artistic creation and presentation, as well as accessibility improvements for venues and facilities.
The arts infrastructure and programming fund has so far awarded more than two-million dollars to 84 projects. (The Canadian Press)

(NS-Bio-Funding)
The Nova Scotia government is providing five million dollars in funding for a new bio-innovation centre in Dartmouth.
The funding is to help transform the nearly five-thousand square metre facility into new wet and dry labs.
The Neptune BioInnovation Centre’s aim is to foster biotechnology advancements across critical sectors, including life sciences, pharmaceuticals, forestry and agriculture.
Growth and Development Minister Colton LeBlance says the centre’s work will help commercialize clean technologies for a more sustainable and prosperous future.
