Stop by at the CHMA station on the 3rd floor of the Wallace McCain Student Centre this Saturday, February 17, from 1-3pm, to learn the basics of how to record and edit it using GarageBand in CHMA’s free-to-use studios. Additionally, you can also stop by to ask any questions about radio, podcasting, audio production and how to get involved with your local community and campus radio station! As always CHMA events are free to attend and a positive space for everyone!

Come join CHMA for an introduction to storytelling. Stop by the CHMA station on the 3rd floor of the Wallace McCain Student Centre on Saturday, February 24th from 1-3pm to learn vocal and recording techniques that can then help you to share these stories effectively with others. This drop-in is suitable for all ages and can help you to hone your storytelling capabilities. No matter what you have to talk about, at heart we are all storytellers, and we would love to help share some of yours.

From Aiko:
Hello everyone!
I hope you are having a good year so far.
CHMA and I wanted to tell you to save the date on March 10th from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.
We plan to take a big picture of where all the hosts here on CHMA can be.
Please arrive at CHMA at 4:30, and after the picture is taken, we will have some pizza at the radio station so we can all hang out for a while.
Thank you and have a nice day,
Aiko

Clinton Davis, Attic Broadcasting board member and Blacklantic host, has another project called BAM (Black Atlantic Musicians). Here’s a great playlist they put together to celebrate and promote Black Atlantic musicians.

We’ll also guide you to the Research section of the New Brunswick Black History Society that has a wealth of information.

and a big “Thank you!” to CHMA Volunteer Extraordinaire Diego Carrillo Cu for recording a series that we’ll be airing starting in February highlighting Black Canadian artists. This is the first of a new format that we’ll be implementing of producing researched and curated shows that we can air through out the year.
