Hey CHMA’ers!
Happy Friday everyone! Here’s a list of CHMA’s upcoming events, for this week and the next! Hope you have fantastic day😊

Black History Month
It’s Black History Month and we’ve compiled some great music and information that you could use on your shows.

Here’s an inspiration list of Black Canadian Artists , both current and historic, with some Wikipedia links:

Clinton Davis, Attic Broadcasting board member and Blacklantic host, has another project called BAM (Black Atlantic Musicians). Here’s a great playlist they put together to celebrate and promote Black Atlantic musicians.

and a big “Thank you!” to CHMA Volunteer Extraordinaire Diego Carrillo Cu. Diego’s recorded a series that we’ll be airing starting in February highlighting Black Canadian artists. This is the first of a new format that we’ll be implementing of producing researched and curated shows that we can air through out the year.

Getting Involved with us! (February 3)

Button and Sticker Making with CHMA (February 10)
Stop by the CHMA station on the 3rd floor of the Mount Allison Student Centre, on Saturday, February 10th from 1-3pm, to learn how to design and make your own buttons and stickers! Whether your own business, have a radio show, or want to promote a fun design you created, making buttons and stickers is a great way to showcase what you are passionate about. CHMA staff will be available to show you how to use the button and sticker making materials, available at the CHMA station. As always, CHMA events are fun, free, and open to absolutely everyone.

Winterfest (February 11)
CHMA will be a part of this year’s Winterfest, and will be DJing a Foodbank Skate on Sunday, February 11, from 3pm to 4:30pm. Come on out for a fabulous time with some great tunes!

Volunteering with CHMA
We are looking for volunteers to join JC at the Sackville Farmers Market on Saturday Mornings, from 10am-12pm. If you would like to make connections and share your experiences at CHMA with the community, please email JC at jc@chmafm.com, or reach out to them on Slack to secure a spot!

Show Promos and Station IDs
We would loooove to hear your voices on air! If you don’t have a show promo or haven’t done a Station ID, please book time with us to come by for a quick session.
