CHMA HQ Jan 19 Weekly Update

Hey CHMA’ers!
Wishing you all a very happy new year! We hope that your year kick-started on a beautiful note! After a long break, we are back with our weekly newsletter updates. This new year, we promise to keep our vibes immaculate and amazing (like they have been every year!:)) Here are some events to start our year with:

Show Promo’s and Station ID’s
We need your voices on air! If you don’t have a show promo or haven’t done a Station ID, please book time with us to come by for a quick session.

2024 Summer Internships
We received funding for 2 internships again for this summer. We’re offering an Independent Media Internship and an International Student Internship. You can find more info here. You can apply directly to us at hr@chmafm.com or apply through the Mount Allison Experience MtA portal. Please help pass the word on!

Local Announcements on CHMA (January 20)
Do you want to record a small advertisement for your local business and have it air, free of charge, on CHMA’s airwaves? This Saturday, January 20, why not head to our headquarters, from 1-3pm. Stop by for a quick recording session as a part of our Listen Vocal, Support Local campaign. If you can’t make it on Saturday, that is completely alright! Instead, you can head to chmafm.com, go to ‘Community News’ and then click on ‘Listen Local, Support Local’ and fill out all the pertinent information to get your business a shoutout on-air.

Farmers Market this Saturday! (January 20)
Here’s a fun announcement! There is also still time to volunteer for this week’s Farmers Market! Come connect with the community and share with them what you loooove about CHMA!

Wax and Wire: A CS and Gear Yard sale! (January 27)
CHMA is hosting their first CD Sale of the New Year on Saturday, January 27th, from 1 to 3pm, on the 3rd floor of the Wallace McCain Student Centre. Come and check out the extensive collection of CDs and a few fun pieces of technology we have for sale. Proceeds will go right back into the station to keep our accessible technology up to date, in our free-to-use studios. You are also more than welcome to bring your own CDs to sell by yourself!

Winterfest! (February 11)
CHMA will be a part of this year’s Winterfest, and will be DJing a Foodbank Skate on Sunday, February 11, from 3 to 4:30pm. Come on out for a fun time with some great tunes!
