You may start to notice people sporting bright green bracelets around Sackville as of this weekend.
The bracelets are part of a new system put in place to help Mount Allison track students as they return to campus.
People wearing green bracelets are students who have visited the Welcome Centre to check in. That includes both students staying in residence, and off campus students who have either completed self-isolation or didn’t need to because they were already living in Sackville or the Atlantic bubble.
Students staying in residence will also be issued a bracelet coloured according to residence.
The colour-coded bracelets will make it easier for residence staff to quickly see who belongs in residence buildings, as visitors are currently not allowed.
The bracelets also allow residence students to use the dining hall, which is not open to off-campus students this year.
Bracelets will also be required for students to receive some campus services, such as parcel pick-up.
Mount A is asking students to wear the bracelets until September 18th.
Students currently living in town can get their bracelets anytime the Welcome Centre is open, and students who are self-isolating can get them once they confirm they have met public health protocols.
When students check in at the Welcome Centre they will also receive a so-called ‘swag bag’, complete with a MtA-Sackville Bubble sticker and face mask, as well as information about the COVID-19 measures adopted by the University and the Town of Sackville.
