On today’s show, we hear a pitch from community organizer Garth Zwicker about extending again the number of veterans banners that the municipality puts up on light posts every year. “I don’t think it’s a project that weighs the town down,” Zwicker told council this week. “I think it’s a project that could bring the town up.” Zwicker also shared plans for a book featuring images and stories from the banners, and an online map to help families locate their loved ones.
Plus in briefs, Tantramar council is going ahead with the process to rezone two properties on Kirk Street to allow for five rowhouses, and the municipality will team up with EOS Eco-Energy to apply for funding to create a new Tantramar-wide adaptation plan for climate change impacts.
