Campus facilities will remain closed until at least October, says Mount Allison Vice President of Advancement Gloria Jollymore.

Jollymore answered the question about campus on Monday evening’s Tantramar COVID-19 Task Force town hall.

She said the university is following a phased approach to re-opening which means the campus will remain off limits to anyone except university staff and students for the rest of September, at least.

“The factors that come into play that help us make decisions about moving from one phase to another will certainly change with with government of New Brunswick regulations, with the state of the pandemic in the province. So just for the time being, as the regrettably close to the general public until the first of October, so we will assess and and make decisions again. At that time,”

Jollymore says the pool and fitness centre are following their own operations plan, but they will also remain closed until October 1st at the earliest.

Currently, Mount Allison students, staff and faculty are allowed to use the facility by appointment only, with a maximum of 15 allowed in the fitness centre at one time.

More information is available on the athletic centre website.
