COVID Update: Four new cases, Atlantic Bubble reformation date delayed

The COVID-19 update is mercifully short today with only four new cases that are all close contacts of previously reported cases.

One of the new cases is in Zone 2 (St. John region), and the other three are in Zone 4 (Edmundston region).

All of those new cases are close contacts of previously reported cases.

According to the province’s COVID-19 Dashboard, there are 238 cases currently under investigation.

Yesterday the province quietly determined that three cases under investigation were related to travel, but contact tracers still have a lot of work left to do.

17 people recovered from the disease yesterday, but 18 are still in the hospital.

13 of those 18 patients are in intensive care units.

There are 132 active cases of COVID-19 in New Brunswick, 16 of which are in Zone 1 (Moncton region).

The Atlantic Premiers decided that the new tentative date for the Atlantic Bubble reformation is May 3rd. Read about the Atlantic Bubble delay here.
