On today’s show, we talk with Mount Allison Drama and Screen Studies resident designer Ian McFarlane, who is co-creator of THE DARK, a new production that will bring audiences outside on a moonless night in the Sackville Waterfowl Park, for an experience involving lanterns, puppets, poetry and music. The production takes place next weekend (November 2-3) and audiences are also invited to lantern making workshops this weekend at the Purdy Crawford Centre for the Arts.

THE DARK is the Motyer-Fancy Theatre’s second work so far this year. Never Swim Alone by Daniel MacIvor is on now and continues through to Saturday.

And in today’s briefs: the results of the Student Vote program—which tallied votes from 35,000 public school students—are not far off the real thing, but with a few key differences. And Mount Allison is tackling a new strategic plan to guide the school into its third century.
