Canadian premiers are taking up the Team Canada mantle in Washington this week.
They are on a joint mission to convince U-S President Donald Trump to drop his tariff threats for good.
Trump has announced he will impose 25 per cent tariffs on all aluminum and steel imports to the U-S– which includes those from Canada– on March 12th.
Saint John, New Brunswick is one of the Canadian cities most vulnerable to U-S tariffs– according to a report by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s business data lab.

NB-Minimum-Wage)
New Brunswick’s minimum wage is set to be 15-dollars and 65-cents per hour starting April 1st.
That’s an increase of 35 cents from its current rate of 15-dollars and 30-cents.
The provincial government says six per cent of all employees in New Brunswick were earning minimum wage last year– down from 6.7 per cent in 2023.
It says close to one-third of those were aged 15 to 19 years old.

R-C-M-P in eastern New Brunswick have identified the man who died during a home invasion last week in Berry Mills.
The Mounties say 35-year-old Brian Justin Johnson, originally from Halifax, was involved in an altercation at a home on Isaiah Road during the early morning hours of February 6th and he later died at the scene.
Investigators say three people had forced their way into the home and confronted Johnson and a woman.
Police are asking for help from the public as they continue their investigation.

Nova Scotia’s auditor general says spending outside the official budget process has hit seven-billion-dollars over the last decade.
Kim Adair says the government spent 1.38-billion-dollars in the 2023-24 fiscal year that wasn’t first authorized by the legislature.
She says she is continuing her fight for more accountability over government spending.
Adair notes in four of the past five fiscal years, government revenues exceeded budget forecasts.

A 50-year-old woman has died after a car struck a power pole in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.
R-C-M-P say two men in their 50s–the driver and another passenger– are also in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Mounties say officers responded to a report of a vehicle crash on Sackville Drive near Hillcrest Ave at around 9:35 a.m yesterday.
Police are asking anyone with dashcam footage from the area during that time to contact them.

A 35-year-old has been charged with attempted murder after a violent altercation in Labrador City over the weekend.
R-C-M-P say officers responded to a report of an altercation in the area of Cavendish Crescent on Saturday and a 67-year-old man was located nearby with serious injuries and rushed to hospital.
Police say the 35-year-old was arrested the next day in Quebec, with the help of local police.
He appeared in court yesterday in Wabush.
