Fire alarms at Mount Allison library, but no fire

Sackville residents may have heard sirens this afternoon as first responders were dispatched in response to an alarm at Mount Allison University.

Spokesperson Laura Dillman says there was a problem with construction dust related work in the tunnel system at the university, which set off the smoke alarms at the Ralph Pickard Bell Library.

Dillman says the library is closed for the rest of the day Thursday and will be reopening tomorrow morning, Friday, September 18, at 8:10am as usual.
