Friday update: Five new cases in Zone 5, says province

New Brunswick recovery phases by health zone, from the NB COVID-19 dashboard.

New Brunswick Public Health announced five new cases of COVID-19 in the province Friday afternoon. All are in Zone 5, the Campbellton region.

Two people is under 19, one person is in their 20s, and two people are in the 50s, says the province. All cases are self-isolating and under investigation.

There are 92 active cases in the province. 41 of those are in Zone 1, the southeast region including Sackville and Tantramar. There are 48 active cases in the Campbellton region, two in the Saint John region, and one in the Fredericton region.

Four patients are currently hospitalized with one in an intensive care unit.

Zone 1 and Zone 5 are both in the orange phase of public health restrictions, which calls for two household bubbles and mask-wearing in public spaces both indoors and out.
