Moncton’s Frye Festival is looking for 14 bilingual New Brunswick high school students to form the twelfth Frye Academy jury.
Frye Academy is a bilingual battle of the books for students in grades 9 to 12.
Jury members will have to read four shortlisted contemporary Canadian books, two in English and two in French. They then participate in debates via Zoom to choose a winning book.
The winning author will be invited to the Frye Festival in April 2021 to meet the members of the jury as well as festival goers.
In a press release the Festival says it “hopes to reach young people from all over New Brunswick and encourage them to sharpen their critical thinking skills and share their ideas with their peers in order to make literature a living, collective experience.”
The registration deadline is November 15th and more information is available on the Frye festival website, FRYE.CA
