The local Community is rallying around a young man seriously injured in an ATV accident.

16 year old Graeson Hicks, a grade 11 student at Tantramar and a member of the Titan’s hockey team, sustained serious injuries on March 22nd. Since then he’s been receiving care at the Moncton Hospital.

According to Jesse Estabrooks, a friend of the family, Graeson is beginning his rehabilitation at the Stan Cassidy Centre in Fredericton this week.  Recently, Jesse and the Estabrook family, have set up a pancake supper fundraiser and an online auction to help to support Graeson and his family.

CHMA Reporter, Lara MacMillan, had the opportunity to talk with Jesse about his connection to Graeson, the fundraisers they have planned for this week and his recent visit to see Graeson in the hospital.

The pancake supper will be held at the Sackville Legion today, Thursday, April 24th from 4-7pm and includes pancakes, sausage, baked beans, coffee, tea and assorted cakes for dessert for $15.

The Auction, set up on Facebook, is titled “Tough as Nails… Stronger Than Ever” and will end on Sunday April 27th at 5pm.
