Gabrielle Sofia releases ‘Change Your Mood’; is pushing for more female and non-binary representation in the music industry

Although as a recording artist she is relatively new on the scene, Halifax-based Gabrielle Sofia has possessed a long-time connection with music. Her debut full-length studio effort ‘Lacewood’ was released on June 21st, 2021 and propelled her into the conversation of Halifax’s blossoming R&B scene. With her latest single adventuring into pop/dance music, Sofia is continuing to put her musical versatility on display for a growing audience.

Joe Hubley reached Gabrielle at her home in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Their conversation covered topics like getting her start playing music, her drive to create room for more female and non-binary representation in the music/recording industry, and what’s to come next for her.
