Starting next week, all residential properties in the Municipality of Tantramar will have the same day for garbage, recycling and organics pick up: Mondays.
Tantramar public works chief Jon Eppell reminded Tantramar council of the planned change at this week’s committee of the whole meeting.
“I’ve gotten this question several times,” said Eppell. “There will be no Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday pickup. The schedule is changing from Monday to Friday weekdays to being on Mondays only for all residential properties in Tantramar.”
“It will be alternating as it is now,” said Eppell. Monday February 3 will be blue bags (recyclables) and green bags (organics). The following week, February 10, will be clear bags (garbage) and green bags (organics).
Eppell also noted that starting on February 10, residents will be able to place one large item for disposal on clear garbage days, and that will take the place of special pick up days in the spring and fall.
