On today’s show, Clinton Davis talks with the director and set designer from If We Were Birds, which opens next week in Mount Allison’s Motyer-Fancy Theatre. Jay Whitehead and Erica Duncan discuss the intense creative journey behind the production, which tackles difficult and emotional topics like violence, war, and trauma.

And Erica Butler calls up Tantramar MLA Megan Mitton to get her reaction to news that federal and provincial governments have agreed to share funding of the $650 million dollar Chignecto Isthmus protection project. Mitton says she is calling on all federal party leaders to commit to following through on funding the major climate adaptation project.

Plus in briefs:

  • Marshlight Theatre’s New Works Festival winds down this weekend with a flurry of readings, workshops and new productions.
  • An antique store counter from the Cackling Goose has found a new home in Cape Tormentine, though the piece may not have originated at the Goodwin General Store in Baie Verte after all.
