Mount Allison students and staff were warned about incidents of street harassment in an email sent by Kim Meade, vice president international and student affairs on Friday, October 9, at 4:14PM.

The letter says, “Incidents of street harassment have been reported in the Sackville community. Police are investigating a report of students being harassed by a group of young men. Mount Allison staff have been in contact with the RCMP, the Town, and campus security.”

Anyone experiencing threats, fear, and/or harassment should call 911 immediately.

In the email, Meade reminds students and staff that Mount Allison has a Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Education Service (SHARE), which can be reached by text/phone (506-540-7427) or email at share@mta.ca

SHARE provides support for all types of sexual violence, including harassment.

The South East Sexual Assault Crisis Centre has a 24/7 crisis phone line available at 1-844-853-0811.

The SESAC also provides accompaniment to police and/or the hospital.

Meade also recommends that anyone with information about the incidents call the RCMP complaint line at 1-888-506-7267.

Campus security can be reached at 506-364-2228.

CHMA has reached out to Mount Allison for more details and will provide updates with more information.
