Mount Allison is looking for a new football coach.

Former football Mounties head coach Peter Fraser resigned on March 10, and a posting looking for a new coach closed last Friday.

Fraser served as Mounties coach for just over 7 years.

At last week’s Mountie Day celebrations, interim director of Athletics Neil MacEachern told CHMA he “recognizes [Fraser’s] contribution to the team, the university, the students, and, you know, we just wish him all the best.”

Former assistant coach Joel Lippert is serving as interim head coach. Lippert is also manager of athletics at Mount Allison, a position he took on in December.

The university “will be selecting a new coach over the coming weeks,” says MacEachern. “We just have to move forward and
go from there.”

MacEachern himself is an interim director of athletics at Mount A, and says the timeline for finding a new permanent director has not been finalized.

“I’ve actually enjoyed my time here,” says MacEachern, “but I’m also interested in getting back to retirement with my wife and family.”

MacEachern says the school will be discussing the timeline to find his replacement over the summer.
