Mt A astronomer helps sound the alarm on dangers of satellite proliferation in near-Earth orbit

On today’s show, we set our sights on the night sky, and speak with Mount Allison astronomer Catherine Lovekin about the proliferation of satellites in near-Earth orbit. Lovekin recently wrote to the US Federal Communications Commission to add her voice to those concerned about proliferation of private satellite networks, and the impact on the ability of scientists to observe space.

Plus in briefs, the last of Tantramar’s public consultation sessions in advance of a new strategic plan is happening this morning, and residents and community groups are invited to present to council during its budget discussion day on September 18.
