Today, June 21st, marks National Indigenous Peoples Day.

The CHMA station is situated in the Siknikt District of Mi’kma’ki, the unceded ancestral lands of the Mi’kmaq people. As we learn and grow together, it is our responsibility to understand this territory’s past and work towards the necessary decolonization to preserve its future. We are forever grateful to broadcast across these lands, and humbled by their power as our terrestrial signal ebbs and flows through them.
To our Indigenous listeners, we hope today comes as peacefully as possible. To everyone else, we encourage you to spend it learning and in reflection about the land you occupy and its history.
Staff and programmers have created a playlist (find it below!) of incredible music by Indigenous artists; have a listen and please consider supporting them by buying directly from their personal sites, or during events like Bandcamp Friday.
The playlist is in no way comprehensive, but it IS collaborative, please feel free to add to it yourself or email us at attictransmissions@chmafm.com to have your suggestions added!
And finally, as always, if you would like your voice and/or music on air please don’t hesitate to reach out! We are here to serve in having your voices heard.
