On today’s show, the newly installed president of Mount Allison University, Dr. Ian Sutherland, dropped by CHMA studios this week. We ask the new president about the university’s upcoming strategic planning process, which he says will be “ground up, highly consultative and iterative.” Sutherland says the whole university community will have a chance to weigh in on questions like, “What do you think is the very best of what Mount Allison is today, that we must maintain moving forward?”

We also ask the new president how declining international student quotas and public funding challenges are impacting the school and its future.

Plus in news briefs, Sackville’s overnight winter parking ban kicks into gear this weekend, and Tantramar council meets today at 1pm for a final discussion and to set tax rates for the municipality’s 2025 budget.
