There’s No Ignoring Ignorance

Exciting news in Canadian music: a new The Weather Station album is coming in the near future.

The Weather Station, a Toronto band fronted by Tamara Lindeman, will release it’s 4th studio album on February 5th, 2021. Three singles have been released thus far–“Robber”, “Tried to Tell You”, & “Atlantic”–which are all excellent

If you know me, you know that I love The Weather Station; the first solo I ever choreographed was to “Know It to See It” (All of It Was Mine), Loyalty was the soundtrack to my high school life, and I bought The Weather Station from the merch table at Sappyfest in 2019. Sidenote: the mirrored jacket from that performance (& Ignorance’s album cover) is To. Die. For.

But while ‘excellent’ may be biased, it’s also true.

For the 4th time (in 4 albums, may I add) the sound has been totally reinvented, this time moving even further away from the project’s folk roots. It’s an album of firsts: the first self-produced by Lindeman, written on keyboard, and released with Mississippi’s Fat Possum Records.

Again, if the latest singles are any indication, we’re in for a treat.

Ignorance goes live February 5th, with a virtual performance taking place March 11th at 8pm CST.
