The Sackville Public Library is open.
Sackville trails and parks are open, and the washrooms at Bill Johnstone Memorial Park and Lillas Fawcett Park are being sanitized regularly. In a PSA, the town of Sackville says that if provincial rules are not followed, “the Town will have to consider if the parks can remain open or will be closed.”
Sackville’s Public Works facility, the Bill Johnstone Memorial Activity Centre and the Tantramar Veteran’s Memorial Civic Centre will remain closed to the public until further notice.
All Sackville recreation programs have been either cancelled or postponed until further notice. Updates will be posted on the town’s social media.
Goya’s Pizza reminds customers to wear a mask upon entry of the restaurant, and has restricted the use of washrooms and tables to those who are eating in only.
Service New Brunswick is reducing some services in Zones 1 and 5. In-car drivers testing in these zones will not be available effective immediately, but commercial testing will continue with increased precautions in place.
Cattail Ridge Family Market is open. The store updated social media reminding customers of their pre-existing COVID-19 rules which include mandatory mask wearing, a limited capacity of 4 customers at a time, sanitizing hands upon entry and exit, social distancing, and refraining from entry if you have travelled outside of the Atlantic Bubble in the past two weeks or have symptoms.
Art Across the Marsh Studio Tour is cancelled. Rob Lyon Graphics broke the news over Facebook on October 10. He says “if you wish to contact any of the artists directly, many have contacts on our website at www.artacrossthemarsh.ca or contact me [Rob Lyon] and I would be happy to link you up with them.”
As of October 4, Rose’s Independent Grocer requires masks or face coverings to be worn in the store at all times. More details on updated policies to come.
Payless Liquidation is open. Signs on their front door remind the public that masks are now mandatory in the store. There is an occupancy limit of 12 at a time.
All hairstylists, barbers, and spas are required to close due to the new restrictions. The Mane Attraction, The Little Hair House, Meraki Body Longue, Nicole Burke Esthetics, and Steel Clippers Barbershop announced their closures on social media. Love is in the Hair and Hedy’s Hair Care have “closed until further notice” signs on their doors. Mane Attraction and Meraki Body Lounge say that all cancelled appointments will be given priority upon reopening. Nicole Burke Esthetics urges clients not to cancel their appointments online, as they will be used to keep track of rebooking appointments.
The Sackville Swim Club is postponing all Sharks practices and sanctioned events until further notice. They say practices will resume as soon as they are safe and restrictions are lifted.
The Sackville Farmers Market is open for business this morning. Market manager Michael Freeman is reminding people to, “use a mask, practice social distancing, and sanitize after cash transactions. If you have been in one of the COVID hotspots (Moncton Costco or McDonald’s) please refrain from coming to market until you’re tested. Get in touch and we can arrange food delivery.”
Truman Blueberry Farms is open, as is their play area, which is now a masks required zone.
The Vogue Cinema is closed due to new restrictions announced today, says owner Jeff Coates. The Sackville Film Society director Thaddeus Holownia wrote today on social media: “I am sad to report that screenings of the Sackville Film Society are going to cease until the Orange restriction is lifted. I will endeavour to rebook the film dates we will miss during the shut down of the Vogue Cinema.”
The Tantramar Veteran’s Memorial Civic Centre will be closed, “until the Province returns our region to the yellow level,” says the Town of Sackville.
The Mount Allison Fitness Centre will be closed starting Saturday, until further notice from the province and the university.
