Police: Missing Port Elgin boy home ‘safe and sound’

Police say a 14-year-old boy who went missing on March 1 in Port Elgin returned home Friday morning “safe and sound”.

Aimé Cormier was reported missing to police on March 4, and a search ensued. Sergeant Eric Hanson says the RCMP deployed a police dog, uniformed officers, a helicopter, as well as Tri County Ground Search and Rescue volunteers to search for the missing boy.

“Thank you to the public for calling in with tips/information,” says Hanson, “as well as local businesses in Strait Shores for looking at CCTV footage.”
