Horizon Health Network is advising that the emergency department at the Sackville Memorial Hospital will temporarily closed for the following evening and night shifts:

  • Saturday, April 17 – 4 p.m. to Sunday to April 18 at 8 a.m.
  • Sunday, April 18 – 4 p.m. to Monday to April 19 at 8 a.m.

A Horizon announcement says that, “due to a temporary nursing shortage, the Emergency Department will not be seeing patients and clients during these shifts and ambulances will be diverted to other hospitals.”

“All patients and clients requiring urgent medical care will need to seek treatment at another hospital,” reads the announcement.

The emergency department will be open during the day on Sunday, April 18 from 8am to 4pm, says Horizon.

Of course, anyone with a medical emergency should call 911, and anyone with questions about the care they need can call 811.
