The emergency department at Sackville Memorial Hospital will temporarily close overnight this Saturday, October 3, from 4pm until 8am the following morning.
The Horizon Health Network announced the temporary closure on Friday, due to a physician shortage.
Ambulances will be diverted to other hospitals during the 16-hour period.
All patients and clients requiring urgent medical care will need to seek treatment at another hospital.
As always, says Horizon, patients who have a medical emergency should call 911, and anyone with questions about medical concerns can call 811.
In a release Horizon said this is the second temporary closure of the Sackville hospital emergency department this year due to a physician shortage. The agency apologized for the closure.
