The Sackville Film Society is gearing up for a second, shorter season of films this spring. The Society is offering a limited number of seasons passes for a series of 6 films running from April 8 until May 13.

The longer fall 2020 season was interrupted by two periods of orange or red phase restrictions, with screenings suspended and then resumed once restrictions were lifted. That season wraps up this week with its final film, Death of Ladies Man.

In years past, film goers could line up at the Vogue on Thursday nights to buy Film Society tickets at the box office, but in this pandemic year, organizer Thaddeus Holownia set up a seasons pass system, to help avoid the lineups, and to control for the size of the crowd in the theatre each week.

Up to 80 passes are available for each screening. Demand was so great in the fall that Holownia set up a second matinee screening on Saturdays. So far, the spring season will be offered Thursday evenings only. There were 20 spots remaining as of Wednesday evening.

Sackville Film Society Spring Series Films:

April 8: The Father
April 15: Minari
April 22: The Courier
April 29: The Mauritanian
May 6: French Exit
May 13: TBA
