On today’s show, two health care stories: We head over to the Sackville Memorial Hospital, where about 75 people gathered Thursday to celebrate the opening of the new outdoor garden courtyard, as well as the purchase of new operating room equipment, both funded by the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation annual campaigns. Foundation chair Bill Evans and orthopedic surgeon Dr. Michael Forsythe walk listeners through both of the Foundation’s latest gifts.

Plus, New Brunswick premier Susan Holt announced a long-called-for change to provincial regulations that could have an impact on access to surgical abortions in the province. We talk with recently re-elected MLA Megan Mitton about the announcement, and her feeling of hope as the new provincial government takes power.
