Sackville resident proposes change to make small homes more practical

On today’s show, we talk with Natalie Donaher, a Sackville resident who has asked Tantramar council to change the way they regulate the size of dwellings in the former town. Right now, Sackville dwellings must have minimum dimensions of 20 feet by 20 feet, which means they are too wide to be built offsite and transported to a property. Donaher is proposing changing the minimum requirement to 400 square feet, which would allow for rectangular small homes which could be transported to lots in the former town.

Plus in briefs, Baie Verte musician Jon McKiel won Recording of the Year at the 2024 Music New Brunswick awards, and landlord Sean Doucet is trying for a second time to rezone 40 York Street in order to add more rental units to the property.
