Sackville Town Council will meet tonight for its monthly special discussion meeting. Formal decisions are not made at monthly discussion meetings, which serve as a preview of the following week’s decision-making agenda.
Tonight’s agenda includes a report from Deputy Mayor Ron Aiken on the Union of Municipalities of New Brunswick annual general meeting, and information on a tender for a back-up generator for the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Centre.
Two by-laws and two town policies are up for discussion. The by-law ‘Regulating the Duties of the Fire Chief’ and a by-law ‘Respecting Smoking in the Town of Sackville’ are both on the agenda, as well as two policies around conflict resolution between managerial employees and the CAO.
There’s also a request for quotations about a generator for public works
and a presentation on a green roof addition from EOS ECO Energy.
And lastly, the pedestrian connection between Fawcett Avenue and Moffatt Lane is on the agenda.
The meeting starts at 6:30pm tonight, and there will be a 15-minute public participation period.
To participate, citizens need to join the meeting via Microsoft Teams. Links to both the livestream and the Microsoft Teams meeting are on the town of Sackville website under “Minutes and Agendas.”
