Sending “messages of care” to Zone 4

Text reads "Messages of Care, send a well wish to Zone 4." There is a cartoon of two people passing a heart to one another.

In the span of a single week, Zone 4 (Edmundston region) lost three members of its community to COVID-19, the Edmundston Regional Hospital reached its capacity for COVID-19 patients, and parts of the zone went into strict lockdown.

While Zone 4 might be hours away, CHMA hopes to send messages of care from the Tantramar.

CHMA is collecting (and broadcasting) short audio clips from community members to show support for the people living in Zone 4.

Members of the community may record a message using their smartphones, laptops, or in CHMA’s production studio (provided they are permitted entry during the yellow phase of COVID-19 restrictions).

Multilingual listeners are encouraged to record their message in as many languages as they are willing. As Zone 4 has many Francophone communities, messages in French are strongly encouraged.

All recordings can be sent to reporting@chmafm.com.

HOW TO RECORD ON A SMARTPHONE:

  1. Record yourself using the “Voice Memo” app on your smartphone, or a comparable app.
  2. Remember that the microphone is on the bottom of your phone, so it should be the part of your phone closest to you while recording. Hold the phone at least 4″ away from your face while speaking for best audio quality.
  3. Send the recording directly to us from the Voice Memo app (reporting@chmafm.com).
