CODIAC RCMP OFFICER TESTS POSITIVE
The Codiac RCMP say that one of their officers has tested positive for COVID-19 after interacting with someone with the disease while on the job.
Officers responded to a call last Wednesday, and during the call learned that one of the people involved had tested positive for COVID-19.
RCMP spokesperson Corporal Hans Ouellette says that officers followed protocols such as sanitizing equipment, self-isolation for those exposed, and extensive testing. One officer involved later tested positive.
Contact tracing is underway, and it’s not yet confirmed the officer contracted the disease during the encounter.
