There has been another death due to COVID-19 in Zone 4.

The person who died was in their 80s, and was a resident of Manoir Belle Vue in Edmundston.

That brings the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 to 26.

New Brunswick reported just one new case of COVID-19 in Zone 4 (Edmunston).

The person is a close contact of a previously reported case and is self-isolating.

There was also a case that was previously reported that turns out was a false positive.

The false positive is in Zone 3, and is being investigated by the province.

There has been a sixth case of the B117 variant, otherwise known as the UK variant, identified in the province.

The variant is a previously reported case, and is in Zone 4.

New Brunswick currently has 84 active cases of COVID-19, seven of which are in Zone 1 (Moncton).

Two people have recovered and two remain in hospital, one requiring intensive care.

In vaccine news, the province continues to reserve new doses for healthcare workers and older adults in vulnerable settings.

Clinics for more than 5,200 residents who live in 193 licensed long-term care facilities across the province will take place later this week.

More than 1,000 other people are scheduled to receive their second dose at these clinics.

11,036 New Brunswickers have been fully vaccinated against the disease so far.

Nova Scotia reported one new case of COVID-19, and has 19 active cases.

Newfoundland continues to discover new cases of the virus, with 14 new cases to report.

Their active case count has dropped from 430 to 407, and the province is still considering point-of-entry testing at all its airports and ferries to curb the spread.
