On today’s show, the mayor of Strait Shores and two councillors have resigned from their positions, leaving just two remaining council members. The council is now unable to make quorum, and so cannot meet or make decisions. The municipality has until Friday, February 28 to get on the list for April by-elections run by Elections NB. Meanwhile one of the remaining council members, Andy MacGregor, was sanctioned by council last week, after a closed discussion regarding a complaint under the municipality’s code of conduct by-law. CHMA hears from MacGregor and municipal government expert and politics professor Geoff Martin about the troubling situation.
