Sunday update: Third COVID-related death in New Brunswick, five more cases

New Brunswick has recorded its third death related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Public Health confirmed on Sunday that a resident of Manoir Notre Dame in Moncton died as a result of underlying complications, including COVID-19. The person was in their 60s.

Sunday’s report included five new cases of COVID-19 in the province, bringing the total active cases to 104.

There are 43 active cases in zone one, the southeast region which includes Moncton, Sackville and the Tantramar area.

The province also issued an exposure notification for an Air Canada flight from Toronto to Fredericton on October 8th. Anyone on the flight is being asked to self-monitor.

Zones 1 and 5 remain in the orange phase of restrictions.
