On today’s show, Tantramar council is considering becoming the first New Brunswick municipality to join the Bee City Canada initiative. Manager of Active Living Jamie Ferguson made the pitch to council on Monday, noting that Bee City communities commit to three main actions: developing a pollinator habitat plan, setting targets for increasing pollinator habitat, and celebrating annual Pollinator week every June.

Plus in news briefs:

  • Tantramar council has been asked to approve spending just under $90 thousand dollars on a new little league shed at the town’s Wellington Street ballfield in Sackville.
  • Tantramar is seeing a big spike in development permit revenue this year, already collecting more than three times the amount normally budgeted for the year.
