On today’s show: Tantramar council has approved the third and final reading of a planning bylaw change that will allow Emilie McBride to install a rectangular shaped, pre-built cedar home on her Sackville property. In a months long process, council changed the minimum 20 ft by 20 ft rule, which was likely an aesthetic choice by former councils to prohibit homes that looked like mobile homes from being built outside of mobile home parks.

Also: Tantramar council has some concerns about a plan to create a fenced-in dog park at the site of an out-of-use BMX bike park on Dufferin Street in Sackville. We hear from Carla VanBeselaere, the Sackville resident who came to council with the latest pitch for a dog park in September 2024.

And finally: A member of the Amherst Police Department who has been off work for nearly one year has been arrested and charged with impaired driving and careless use of a firearm.
