On today’s show, we take a look at some of the decisions coming before Tantramar council tonight, including the approval of the municipality’s 3-5 year strategic plan.
Some residents are expressing disappointment in the planning document, because it does not include mention of heritage or arts and culture.
Tantramar CAO Jennifer Borne calls the document, “our roadmap for success. It will provide clear direction, maintain organizational goals, and manage public expectations, while guiding council in the decision making process.”

- With three weeks to go until a federal election, we review the candidates and information from Elections Canada about voter information cards and polling stations in Tantramar.
- Tantramar council could decide tonight whether to apply to the Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund as a municipal partner for the Freshwinds housing cooperative project, but a staff report is lukewarm on the idea.
- Council will also be asked to consider bumping up the amount of a community grant to support Sappyfest in its 20th anniversary year. Councillor Josh Goguen is making the motion which asks council to match the funds granted to another Sackville festival in 2020.
