On today’s show, we take a look at some of the discussions and decisions that took place in council chambers on Tuesday night, including the election of councillor Matt Estabrooks as deputy mayor until December 2025, and a new contract for planting flower baskets and pots, primarily in downtown Sackville.

Active Living Director Matt Pryde told council that there would be changes to the new contract, including more control over flower choice, and the removal of responsibility for Bridge Street flower beds, which are set to become pollinator gardens with help from the Sackville Community Garden.

Public works director Jon Eppell also explained the municipality’s snow clearing effort on the weekend, including a delay in plowing in Dorchester, and on sidewalks.

Note: A previous version of Tantramar Report indicated Deputy Mayor Matt Estabrooks would serve until the next municipal election in May 2026. Actually, a new vote for Deputy Mayor will take place in December 2025.
