In April, Mount Allison Gender and Work students Hannah MacIntosh and Kenzie Dunnett, in partnership with the NB Pay Equity Coalition, have launched a brand new podcast about gender equality in professional sports! Together, these fabulous hosts unpack the issues of pay inequity in the sports work sector, as well as the gendered injustices that disproportionately impact women and non-binary athletes. In their pilot episodes, Hannah and Kenzie delve into the systemic issues of pay inequity between the men’s and women’s Canadian soccer teams, as well as the consequences of designing sporting competitions according to the gender binary.
