Sackville town council meets tonight at 6:30pm for its monthly “special” council meeting, which involves discussion and information sharing, but no motions of council.
Links to the meeting and the agenda can be found on the town website here.
The agenda lists one fifteen-minute question period for “clarification purposes of information shared with Council,” to take place near the end of the meeting, just before councillors go in camera to discuss two matters related to property and human resources.
The public portion of the agenda lists two presentations from the RCMP, one likely from Sergeant Paul Gagné, and the other from new Community Program Officer (CPO) Lise Babineau who started in Sackville on October 5, 2021, after a 10 month vacancy left by the previous CPO, Jean-Francois LeBlanc.
Council will also hear a presentation from Ensemble Moncton about the new harm reduction vending machine they are installing downtown, and one from Farmer’s Market president Kent Coates.
Public lunchtime skates are on the agenda after Councillor Mike Tower suggested in a previous meeting that the town consider waiving fees for the Civic Centre offering.
Levee on the Lake is also listed on the agenda. The event received approval last month for road closures to facilitate their event in August 2021.
The fire department’s PPE replacement, a tender for street asphalt patching, and a by-law review (By-Law No. 150, To Regulate Purchasing, Leasing, Tendering And Disposal Of Surplus Property, Equipment And Materials) are also on the agenda.
Last but not least, the public agenda includes a request for funding from Renaissance Sackville.
