On today’s show, Tantramar voters have re-elected Green candidate Megan Mitton to represent them in the New Brunswick legislature. Mitton celebrated last night in downtown Sackville, while Liberals in the rest of the province celebrated winning a majority government, with 31 seats and more than 48% of the ballots cast.

We speak with Mitton shortly after the results came in, and also get reactions from her two opponents in the riding of Tantramar, Liberal candidate John Higham and PC candidate Bruce Phinney.

Plus in other local news: Amherst municipal elections brought in big changes to the town council, with a new mayor, Rob Small, and just two out of six incumbent councillors keeping their seats. Also, the first two scholarships designed to bring more doctors to Tantramar have been awarded to Syed Ahmed, a medical student who has committed to practice in the region when he graduates.
