On today’s show, we take a look at some of the stories coming out of Tuesday’s Tantramar council meeting, including:

  • A deferred decision on a proposed closure of access roads to the Dorchester Consolidated School on February 17;
  • Rejection of a request from Councillor Debbie Wiggins-Colwell to look into the possibility of using the Dorchester ball field as an off leash area for dogs in the off-season;
  • Approval for staff to look into installing school zone signs around Dorchester Consolidated School, and a speed monitoring sign on the 106 near the village centre;
  • And a request for staff to work with the Fundy Biosphere Region on a potential plaque to go along with the Shep the Sandpiper statue in Dorchester village square.

Plus in other news, the quarterly Canada Carbon Rebate, expected to be about $190 for a family of four, is due to be sent out today, says the office of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada.
